How BIMKit handles the data you enter and the conditions of use.
1. Where your data is stored
Only the EIR/BEP Generator (the "Save Draft" button) stores what you enter IN YOUR BROWSER via localStorage (keys eir-draft, eir-draft-extras) — on your own device, as plaintext (not encrypted). Other tools (the standalone LOIN Matrix, BIM Maturity Assessment, etc.) do NOT auto-save — reloading the page loses what you entered.
BIMKit is a static web app with NO backend server receiving data. What you enter is NOT transmitted, NOT stored on our servers, and we CANNOT read it.
Because the data lives on your device: clearing browser cache/localStorage loses your EIR/BEP drafts; a different device or browser won't show old drafts. The EIR/BEP Generator has a "Clear Draft" button to remove your saved data yourself. Export EIR/BEP (.docx) and IDS requirements (.ids) to keep a durable copy.
2. Not for classified data
Do not enter state secrets, classified data, or sensitive project information into BIMKit. This is a public reference tool that stores data as plaintext (unencrypted) in localStorage. Any script running on the same origin as BIMKit, or a browser extension with sufficient permissions, CAN read this data. A different browser on the same machine (e.g. Chrome vs. Firefox) typically CANNOT read another browser's localStorage — but that is simply how localStorage works, NOT a security guarantee; on a shared or public machine, the data remains at risk of being accessed by someone else.
3. Anonymous usage analytics
BIMKit may use Cloudflare Web Analytics — a privacy-first, cookie-less measurement tool that does NOT track individuals or build user profiles. It only records aggregate anonymous metrics (page views, country, browser) to help improve the tools.
4. Disclaimer (Terms of use)
BIMKit is a free reference tool. Legal content is based on Decree 217/2026/NĐ-CP, the 2025 Construction Law and ISO 19650/TCVN standards at the time of writing — it does NOT replace legal advice, professional BIM consulting, or formal contractual documents.
Documents generated by BIMKit (EIR/BEP/IDS…) are reference DRAFTS that must be reviewed, completed and owned by a BIM Manager and the relevant parties before signing or issuing.
Users are responsible for verifying current legal validity and suitability for their specific project. BIMKit is not liable for any damages arising from use of the tools.
